TERMS & CONDITIONS
At Pencil Proof Studios we always aim to be fair and reasonable and all of our courses are subject to the following terms and conditions. If you have any questions, please contact us and we will gladly go through it with you.
1. General Booking Information
1.1. We are unable to reserve a place for any persons onto a course until full payment has been received and the place has been confirmed to you by us.
1.2. By booking onto a training course with full payment, you are acknowledging that you have read and understood the terms and conditions herein.
1.3. All confirmed students will receive a booking confirmation. If you do not receive your booking confirmation let us know so we can confirm that there are no problems.
1.4. The company reserves the right to decline any application for enrolment on a training course.
1.5. It is required for all sessions that candidates must be able to understand and read in English and are no younger than school going age.
1.6. Feedback on exercises are part of the course and does take into account the individual’s interests and needs. Pencil Proof takes no responsibility for students who do not provide feedback within the window frame of the duration of the course. A maximum of four months is allowed for students to complete the course. After that, no further instructions or feedback will be available. It is up to the student to pace himself to complete this course in time.
1.7. Each training course is divided into 8 two-hour sessions (which is limited to a period of 4 months in which to complete). Session times will be confirmed with the student before the commencement of each session and only once the previous session’s exercises have been submitted for feedback.
1.8. You will be doing some exercises during the session and you will be expected to work through others in your own time. Lessons will be delivered in sequence and you will not receive the next lesson before you have completed the one before. Every exercise that you have done (whether it be during the session or in your own time), must be signed and dated, and either scanned in or photographed and sent via WhatsApp (0027794950143) or email before the next lesson. Photographs must be of reasonable quality to be eligible for feedback.
Pencil Proof will not be responsible for modules missed by the student unless a prior arrangement has been confirmed between Pencil Proof and the student. Refunds will not be given for any modules that were missed during the training course.
1.9. Training instructions will be provided via email for each session. Students will be informed prior to the commencement of the training course of any additional material that may be required.
1.10. Exercises done in or outside the session MUST be handed in prior to the next session to be eligible for personal feedback from your tutor.
2.1. All fees for the entire training course must be paid in full no less than 7 days prior to the start of the course. The current price for the full course is ZAR4000 or USD300. This may change from time to time and you will be notified if specials are being offered.
2.2. We are unable to allow students to start a training course unless course fees have been paid for in full.
2.3. Payments are non-refundable unless Pencil Proof cancels the course.
2.4. Payments can be made via PayPal or direct deposit into our bank account. Once we have received your signed T& C’s document as well as your completed Student Information document, you will receive an email with a link for payment.
3.1. For your security, we will not accept cancellations by phone alone. If you wish to cancel or postpone a training course you must confirm so in writing or via email.
3.2. If you cancel the training course booking within 14 days of the start date of the course then you will be liable for 30 % of the full course fees including vat.
3.3. If you cancel the training course within 7 days you will be liable for 100 % of the full course fees including vat.
3.4. Companies or private candidates may substitute an alternative student generally for no extra charge.
3.5. Rather than cancel a training course, you may wish to postpone until another date. We will allow postponing only once with at least 14 days prior notice from the course start date.
3.6. Pencil Proof reserves the right to cancel, re-schedule or vary any course or part of a course due to reasons beyond our control, such as the internet not available or a major natural disaster.
3.7. Where Pencil Proof cancels a training course we will not be held liable for internet availability, transportation, accommodation, loss of earnings or any other associated costs.
4.1. All course material is subject to copyright, including videos, and may not be reproduced or shared in any way.
4.2. Pencil Proof reserves the right to post any student photos of pictures and make use of it in promotional publications and on its website or Facebook page. If you do not wish Pencil Proof to use photos that include you or any of the work that you have produced during the training period, you may notify us in writing at the time of enrolment.
5. Complaints and Appeals
5.1. Complaints in the first instance should be made in writing, via email to Pencil Proof Support. If you are unhappy with the outcome then it will be taken up as per the company complaints procedure for students, which is available upon request. Awarding bodies will not accept complaints directly unless you have followed this process.
6.1. Attendance by a student onto a training course does not provide any guarantee of workmanship, performance, quality or status of the student during future endeavours.
6.2. All information provided is given in good faith and Pencil Proof will not be held responsible for actions taken by the student/client, any other individual or organisation as a result of the information provided during the training course. Pencil Proof Course is not intended as professional therapy or as a replacement form of treatment for physical or mental problems. Our intention is to provide a variety of tools and information to help the students in their quest for creative and emotional well-being.
6.3. Pencil Proof reserves the right to make reasonable changes to these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.
7.1. All intellectual property rights remain the property of Pencil Proof and any copies made of course materials, videos, booklets or training aids will be an infringement of copyright unless agreed in writing by Pencil Proof.
