BEFORE YOU SIGN

Car quote checklist: what should I check before signing?

Use this plain-language worksheet to review the written deal line by line. Bring the original quote, mark what you verified, and ask about anything that changed.

PRINT-FRIENDLY WORKSHEET

Check each line before you sign.

Write the quote’s actual figures in the blanks. Do not rely on a payment alone; confirm the written contract and ask the dealer or lender about unclear terms.

□ Vehicle

Year, make, model, trim, equipment, VIN, and mileage match what you intend to buy.

□ Price and credits

Selling price, discounts, rebates, deposits, and cash down are separately identified.

□ Taxes and fees

Taxes, title/registration, government charges, and dealer fees are itemized.

□ Products

GAP, service contracts, maintenance, tire/wheel, accessories, and other products show names and prices.

□ Trade

Trade allowance, payoff, and any negative or positive equity are written clearly.

□ Finance terms

APR, term, amount financed, payment, finance charge, and total of payments are present.
